Article submitted to Meopham Parish Council by resident Alison Aitken
On late Friday afternoon, 17th July 2015, whilst walking my dog at Judsons, I noticed that one of the six Native British Trees planted in commemoration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 had been vandalised. The tree, a Native Acer, had been stripped of most of its bark thereby condemning it to die a slow and, presumably, painful death. Each of the six trees had been sponsored by a Meopham family in memory of a loved one.
